My favourite counter spell is the one from tempest, because it's flavour text reads: "It was probably a lousy spell in the first place" I just love it.

Just got into magic today, I bought a deck builder package. I'm really excited to start playing competitively and catch up on ALOT of collecting. If anyone has some tips for playing magic or collecting, i'm all ears. :)

Very nice collection. I also agree Magic was a better game back in the old days than it is now. I started back in 99.

I've recently gotten back into Yu-Gi-Oh and I'm really enjoying having a few competitive decks. I have some friends that play Magic and have invited me to play with them, but I don't know how. I would love to, though, and I'm not sure how to get started. How did you get started playing?

@johnmsanford If I were you, I would buy a Decbuilder's Toolkit and then maybe one or two Duel Deck -packs. These would give you a great selection of cards to start off a deck or two. Then you can trade the excess cards to your friends, for cards more suitable to the decks you started building. Ask for their help in what's good and what's not. Just make sure ´they don't rip you off in the card values, it's not in their best interest to lose a potential player by that. :)

@meowm1xx I bought it from a guy here in Finland, it's nice to be able to personally see a valuable card before buying it.
