London City Walk - St Marys Axe, Bishopsgate. October 2008. Seeing Tower 42, the sites of the Pinnacle, Heron Tower and Leadenhall St. Seeing the Swiss Re, the Lloyds building and the new Willis building next to it - very tastefully designed to fit its 20 yr old neighbour - and ending at the Bank of England.

  • Its great city infact My secound choice out of London as a city

  • Well I don't care what happens to Leeds, it's a hole.

  • shut up moaning let the city grow i love how londons growing its great Me from Leeds wants leeds to grow its people like you what stop this happening

  • That old church really looks out of place there!

  • Those cranes look like they could topple over any minute - I remember a tradgedy in canary wharf a few years ago involving this and a few people died...

  • The 80% figure comes from a YouGov poll which found that 80% of the population are "concerned" or "very concerned" about the level of immigration. Migrationwatch has found that 7 out of 10 Britons (including immigrants from previous generations) want immigration reduced by 80%. This is all information that is out there, just google it.

  • And Canary Wharf is a soulless wasteland that could be anywhere in the world. It may look okay from a distance, lit up at night, but walk around the place and it's just a jumbled mess.

  • OMG - immigration is not a problem?? It contributes NOTHING to the economy, and DESTROYS social cohesion! Go and look at the "Migrationwatch" and "Numbers UK" websites. These are not right-wing sites, they are there to provide people from all political stances with information about the horrendous social and economic effects of mass immigration.

  • For one, i highly doubt 80% think that.

Immigration is not a problem, it boosts the economy and in time, brings around social and ethnic cohesion. Infrastructure and general public services and utilities for "mass immigration" (which never has really happened on a nationwide scale) needs to be on the same level as the population, that is all.

P.S i happen to think Canary wharf is great, it contrasts beautifully with the City of London, which will soon look very spectacular.

  • You're obviously either ignorant or stupid. Are you saying that you have to be a Tory to be concerned about the effects of mass immigration? 80% of the population thinks that immigration has gone too far. Are 80% of the population Tory "News of the World lovers"? Only a moron denies that the level of immigration we've had over the last twelve years is a problem.

Modernist architecture is mostly shite. Look at the Docklands, a horrendous over-built mess.
