Hitting your Goals - Lease Purchase
Hey guys, this is Todd Toback with today's episode of leasepurchasetv. I'll tell you what I just finished my goals for 2012 and I'm very excited for the New Year. But I wanted to share with your today the four (4) specific steps to hit my goal.
Step 1. Vision - A lot of people have great ideas for the New Year; goals they'd like to hit but I feel that a lot of people don't hit them because they don't know exactly what they want. A lot of people say, "I'd like to lose weight this year" or "I'd like to make more money this year". I think a lot of people don't hit their goal because they're not laser focused. They don't know exactly what they want. I would suggest, the one thing I want to do, is I really like to laser-in the very specifics of my vision. For me, I'd like to be able to spend an extra hour with each one of my kids, one on one, every week this year. So I wrote that down in my business plan for 2012. For you, maybe it's going to be that you'd like to earn an extra $50,000 this year in the lease purchase business or maybe you'd like to be able to give the extra $25,000 to a charity in a third world country, whatever it is be specific; write it down.
Step 2. You need a plan to get there. Vision without a plan is nothing. So we need to write down specific actionable steps that you can take every day, every week, every month, every quarter to get you exactly where you want to go; stuff that someone can hold you accountable to, if you looked at it.
Step 3. The actual implementation -- This is where an accountability partner comes in. When push comes to shove, you got to get off the couch in the morning. I never knew of anyone who'd achieve their goals doing nothing; by just dreaming and writing a plan. You want to have at least the desire to get out and actually take action every single day and so what I suggest having an accountability partner. Someone who you could share your vision with, your action plan with, and somebody who could hold you accountable to taking action every day, every week, every month. This shouldn't be a spouse, your best friend; it should be someone you can hold accountable and someone who could hold you accountable. It should be someone you would be ashamed, embarrassed to speak to if you're not taking your steps every single week, or every single quarter, to hit those goals.
Step 4. Adjusting -- I have never had a plan or a vision, or goal that I've hit that went exactly to plan. I hit road blocks all the time in my business and the most successful people hit road blocks. But, more importantly, those people know how to bust through road blocks. Quit does not exist in their vocabulary and so when they hit road blocks, they go back to Step 2, which is the planning phase. They go back and they adjust their plan. They make a little tweak; they make little turns; they make adjustments and then they implement the new adjustments, then they hit their goals.
So remember the four steps, its Vision, Plan, Implement and Adjust; quit does not exist in this du jour. Guys, I hope you enjoyed this video.
