"If You Leave Me Now" was the song that turned the corner on Chicago's career. Primarily known for brassy, jazzy numbers, after "If You Leave Me Now" the band would be known for its ballads that featured the lead vocals of bassist Peter Cetera and de-emphasized the horn section. Produced by James William Guercio and written by Cetera, "If You Leave Me Now" went gold, staying at number one pop for two weeks, reaching number one adult contemporary in the fall of 1976. It won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance By a Duo, Group or Chorus and received Record of the Year. Chicago X sold over two million copies, garnered an Album of the Year nomination, and made it to number three pop.
Wow. Super mariage entre musique et image.
