The Italian actress ,the Late Silvana Mangano ,in one of two very famous songs from the movie (ANNA)of 1951.This song is titled [el negro zumbon] with Spanish lyrics. It was later on,sung by many artists, the most famous are those of Amalia Rodriguez in the 50s and the recent version of Pink Martini.I posted this video in an attempt to repopularize this wonderful film [ANNA] because it has become largely unknown among current generations.I hope that more people after viewing this video would start searching to obtain the complete movie which is a masterpiece of art.

  • Thrilled to discover this song with the video. Used to hear it as a child from dad's 78RPM collection. Did not know that it was this hot. To learn that the band Pink Martini performs this number makes me want to go their concert.

  • hmmm you would think she would be able to better pronounce Spanish given she's Italian. Nice song regardless.

  • Composed by Armando Trovajoli.........

  • Every person in that scene needs therapy!

  • anyone else here because of Pink Martini?

  • @RNBalby SHE WAS

  • Frontier Psychiatrist, anyone?

  • My parents had the 78rpm of the song. My father absolutely loved Iltalian cinema. This is the very first song I ever danced to; Thank you for posting htis, brings back a rush of memories. After frantically trying to work out what this song wes by watching cinema Paradisio, I heard the Pink Martini cover and got the original. But the images are beyond words.
