Sudan Radio from Omdurman on medium wave1296 kHz received in Germany on 6 November 2010 at 21:53 and 23:09 UTC using my JRC NRD-535DG communications receiver and Wellbrook ALA1530 active magnetic loop antenna. Distance between the 600 kW transmitter at Reiba and my home near Hannover: 4788 km (2898 miles).
@globalswgetter Thanks for your comment! Usually I try to get an ID "off the air" but in this case comparing the received signal to the web stream was the only way to identify the station due to the weak and poorly modulated signal that faded in and out... My PC is usually switched off during DXing as it causes interference on many frequencies (unfortunately I have no space for an outdoor antenna). If time and weather allow, I do some field DXing in my car from time to time. 73!

You have a nice receiver collection. This one is very classy! your comparison is a first between reg and enhanced, nobody shgows it that way-thanks for letting us see that.

@MARKGM20877 Hi Mark, yes indeed, the web stream was very useful in this case as the signal from Sudan was so faint and obviously undermodulated, only audible when music was played but not when speech was on. Thanks and stay tuned. Cheers Matthias

@tvdxrools Hi David, thanks! Although the frequency is pretty free, it took me many tries to dig this one out. Conditions were quite good that weekend. 73 Matthias
