Labadie is the private beach / port of call where the biggest cruiseship in the world comes every week and disgorges 6,400 pod people for a day.
USAID Arts & Crafts Coordinator Anne Pressoir, working with Aid to Artisans, brought 3 experts to teach the local haitian salespeople how to better sell to these visitors.
Well, the local workforce and the vendors are Haitians. That's them you see being trained by the Arts for Artisans staff under a USAID training contract. And, actually, that's almost a blessing. Labadie is like Disneyland: fake. Artificial. Delusional. I say let the pod people enjoy their vacation and pretend that for a while they were in Haiti.
