Labadie is the private beach / port of call where the biggest cruiseship in the world comes every week and disgorges 6,400 pod people for a day.
USAID Arts & Crafts Coordinator Anne Pressoir, working with Aid to Artisans, brought 3 experts to teach the local haitian salespeople how to better sell to these visitors.

  • Well, the local workforce and the vendors are Haitians. That's them you see being trained by the Arts for Artisans staff under a USAID training contract. And, actually, that's almost a blessing. Labadie is like Disneyland: fake. Artificial. Delusional. I say let the pod people enjoy their vacation and pretend that for a while they were in Haiti.
