Erie Hall of Fame 2009 Inductee: Eugene (George Ericson) Iverd (1893-1936)
Eugene Iverd was instrumental in directing the course of American art in the early 20th century. At a time when American art was being shaped and reshaped, challenged and redefined by the European isms of fine art—Cubism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Abstraction—Iverds work provided a solid foundation for the genre of American Realism.
