  • oh my gosh, i love how he related martial arts to music.

"each guy thinks that he has the things that pleases him, thats martial arts"

    i love that quote,

thank you so much for the post, i thought i would never hear what guru dan insanto would say about what he thinks martial art is,

    thank you very much

  • It's amazing how humble he is despite his accomplishments and knowledge he has built. He's an inspiration!

  • Guys like Guro Dan are the martial artists they are because they learned from the elders. Dan tells countless stories about what he learned from older escrimadors in his Kali grainy, most of whom fought in world war two.

  • When you're older, the knowledge is there, it's valuable, it's sound. Trouble is today so many youth DON'T feel anyone older can tell them a thing, and sooo much knowledge gets lost due to a fundamental lack of basic respect and courtesy for elders. Something they SHOULD have learned at home, btw.

  • He's soooooooright about the age thing. When I was 20 years old doing jump spinning tornado kicks, running ten miles a day and sparring continuously I really thought I'd go on forever.... Then I turned 50 and my body had other ideas... So important that the younger generation have a respect for the people who have "been there" even if they can't do the devastating thing that they(the20 year olds) can do.

  • big fan of dan... I think it's kind of ridiculous to call him guru though.

  • @Xytos...just to join in on the Xytos bashing...timing, rhythm, syncopated beats, flows, crescendos...you must not be much of a musician.

  • Guro Dan is an amazing man!

  • @Xytos

With due respect, looks like you're trying to start an argument on YT. No argument here though.

Perhaps you're right to say he doesn't know about fighting. Probably because you're not on the receiving end of his stick. Either that or I guess you've been fighting all your life and don't have a scratch. Congrats.

Yet, despite all your years of defeating enemies you talk as though you haven't defeated your own demons of arrogance and insolence. Try defeating yourself for once.

  • @Xytos yeah i bet if tried to fight with dan inosanto. hed wrap u in a bag and take out the trash... hater

  • @Xytos I believe every BIT of what Dan Inosanto is saying. You're just too much of an idiot to understand the metaphor. You are just like the rest- mockery as a retort at the realization of your ignorance.

  • @Xytos timing?... technique?... style?....self expression?.... discipline?....quick thinking?...conditioning?... you're right, music and martial arts dont share any of those ...
