World Health Organization declares H1N1 as Pandemic Level 6

The World Health Organization declares that the H1N1 Flu virus is now in fact a pandemic. They raised the pandemic to a level 6 out of 6, the highest. Announced June 11, 2009 by Margaret Chan.

The W.H.O. lost its credibility again by pushing this whole unnecessary fear campaign surrounding H1N1 flu vaccines.

In late May/09 it was already known from the Flu statistics of Australia's closing flu season that the H1N1 flu was a dud. Less fatalities than a regular flu season occurred.

Yet despite this fact, the WHO changed the definition of PANDEMIC to no longer take into consideration a high mortality rate....Thus a mild, non-threatening, seasonal flu could now be termed PANDEMIC.

i think the WHO ought to be commended. they took the necessary steps, despite what others may think, to ensure that the world was safe from a disease that could have potentially wiped out mankind. I mean, sure lets have another case of the Spanish influenza or the black plague. then there would be people complaining that they did nothing about it. So the fact that its under control and not an issue any more is a good thing.
