  • Is it possible for maya software to render the raytrace shadows for fluids?

  • @forestdigger absolutely, the shadows falling on the ground plane are raytraced shadows being thrown by the spotlight. Give it a try, you'll get awesome swirling shadows!

  • hey how can I create the black enviroment in this video? thankss

  • @EmmiaVo If you wish to change the color of the background in the viewport go to the Window Menu - Settings/Preferences - Color Settings. A window will pop up and choose the rollout for 3D view. You can set all of the colors to black, or you can create a custom gradient by changing the top/bottom gradient colors.

  • Once again, DFE to the rescue. This is exactly the effect I'm looking for as part of one of my finals.. You are the man. Thank you.

  • @DemiousStudios Thanks for the Props! The theory with this is to slow all the effects down and really tame the values. Glad it helps!

  • how can you animate fluids, say I want to animate it in slow motion? for about 72 frames (3 secs)

  • @deepfriedectoplasm I followed your tutorial and with the maya software render ray traced shadows were missing, when I switched to mental ray the shadows was there. That's strange, maybe I'm still missing something but I rather render everything with mental ray so it's not a big problem ;)

  • This is really awesome. Really cool effects and a basis to help with some stuff i am trying out.

  • @deepfriedectoplasm, thanks so much, I have a qiz, how can I create evironment that when I render it turn to black so I can use it for adobe after effect? is it the same way in this video? thanks
