Hi.
Another blog, ref: Gearbox Crossmember - Terry's MGB GT 1974. This time a little story how I have struggled to sort out the Gearbox Crossmember and the mountains that are attached to the Crossmember. No manual mentions the right way to refit the Crossmember. Before we attempt to get the Engine and Gearbox in to the car got to get everything ready. Fingers crossed, hope I have got it right.
Happy motoring
Terry (Staffslad1)

  • I just watched all 18 of your vids in one sitting. Great job! I just bought a 1977 MGB roadster but I'm not quite a hardy as you it seems because I shipped it off to a friend who operates a British car repair shop to do my work this winter.

Thanks for your comment. This coming weekend I will be putting the Engine & Gearbox back in to the car ---- if we are not snowed in ? Its been -5 c below freezing this week.

  • Terry.

It was a real chore getting my engine and gearbox in my 70 roadster. At the time John Twist didn't have his You-tube post. But after trail & error I got it right, Your doing it right.

  • Hi Reed.

Thanks - yes it is strange that no manual mentions this about the Gearbox Crossmember. I have just phoned my mate and he is coming up to give me a hand with the Engine / Gearbox back into the car this weekend, only if the snow is not to bad ?

  • Hi holt6's

Thanks for your comments with ref: to my blogs. When it gets a little warmer above freezing temperatures, my next main aim is to put the Engine and Gearbox back into the car. I will or get some one else to video and will up load another blog.

    All the best
