Grandfathers recipe:

Take a big pot and fill it 2/3 with water (we used seawater), boil.
Put in two fists of salt
Put in as much dill you can grab in one hand
Put in 4-6 sugar bits
Put in the crab head first
When it starts to boil again you start the timer

Cooking time depends on the weight of the crab:
5 hg - 12 min
6 hg - 14 min
8 hg - 17 min
10 hg - 21 min

Take out the crab and cool it as fast as possible. Eat when cold.

  • You Swedes sure do love your dill. In the UK, we rarely use it - instead we generally use parsley in its place.
