Now, this is pretty interesting stuff. You may (or may not) be aware that are chums in 13div. have another 40 channels besides Midband. It's between 26.565mhz to 26.955mhz in FM. (their channels 41-80)

They even have a repeater for these frequencies too, and all modes of transmission legally on Midband. Lucky buggers!

The last portion of the video was on SSB, with a 13div station working inbetween a zero and a five. Hence, frantic adjustment of the Coarse clarifier!

  • wot power supply is that? are u using a cigar plug?

  • Maas 10amp PSU.

It has normal terminals around the back, and a cigar lighter socket around the front.

Bloody good PSU actually, I recommend them.

  • Something wrong with that radio, I can't understand a word they are saying until the end.

  • ALL MODES are allowed between 26965-27405 with 4w and yagi antennas. Law soon changes to 12w SSB in the next months. And the lower channels, yep FRN and other things are legal and repeaters, talk from pc, freenet or pmr to the CB all allowed

  • Interesting: in Italy we use normal band (26.965-27.405) and sometimes the upper band. Normally we transmit always on AM (this is an old tradition)

  • Cheers for the update.

Hope to work you on the bands sometime!

  • Oops, I made a Mistake: Of course there are 40 Channels, not 39..

    auf Deutsch ( in german ) :

Ups, ich machte einen Fehler: Natuerlich sind es 40 Kanaele, nicht 39..

  • No, it is not between 26.565 MHz and _26.995_ MHz.

It is between 26.565 MHz and 26.955 MHz. From Channel 41 till Channel 80 in 10 kHz Steps (39 Channels FM).

    auf Deutsch ( in german ) :

Nein, es ist nicht zwischen 26,565 MHz und _26,995_ MHz.

Es ist zwischen 26,565 MHz und 26,955 MHz. Von Kanal 41 bis Kanal 80 in 10 kHz Schritten (39 Kanaele FM).

  • Wonderful, eaglevision1983. I'll look forward to your report.

I'm a long time CB radio operator (since 1975). In fact, had a CB callsign (KBEO-0299) before FCC stopped issuing them years ago. I'm also an ex-ham radio operator. Didn't renew my license (W5NET) earlier this year.

Been thinking about getting back into CB radio, but have hesitated due to the language issue. Experience from someone actually on the radio here would go far towards settling those doubts.

    Thanks again.
