  • Carbon 14 doesn't decay into Carbon 12 it decays into Nitrogen 14 via Beta decay. This video told us nothing about how to do half life calculations, in fact the only calculation you made was 10-1=9. Thanks pussylumpessru for your very helpful post.

  • @sohoyankee66 t1/2= log(0.5)/log(No/N)

    t1/2= half life

    No= amount you started with

    N= amount you're left with you need a graphing calculator to do "log" but this is the formula for half life.

    But I doubt it's important since you posted the comment two months ago. :|

    Another formula is how to calculate how much left of a substance:

    N(t)= No*1/2^number of half lives(time passed/half life)

    N(t)= how much is left

    No= what started with

  • actual calculations would of been more helpful, rather than graph reading
