Another thing. In order to not skip that first hole. You can mark the beginning with a different color thread, that way you keep track of your rows too.

I think you kept adding crochets to each space, to keep it from expanding after you have the right circumference for the crown, just keep the same number of double stitches. In other words, just one double crochet stitch into every space. If it's too wide already, unravel it until you get the right size and from that point on, just put one double crochet into each space.

That happened to me too. I didn't realize it at first but each starting row video also has a finishing row video, so be sure to check those out. You may have too many columns in a particular row. There are also some videos about "decreasing (subtracting stitches)" that will help to shape your hat better.

seems there is a step missing on how to curve the hat from the flat disk.



Mine turned out like a flying saucer, or for someone with a REALLY big head. I did everything the way she had it too...help?
