As an amateur paver installer with several jobs experience, I can tell you this is a lot of work. Dig down 7" Usually hard clay Dispose of dirt. Haul & spread several tons of gravel Tamp tight & flat Haul & spread sand at 1 ton per yard. Haul & place pavers. Dispose of excess gravel & sand. Then the thing settles over 5 years There is also drainage to deal with Seems like a job for amateurs but its not

I'm not a paving contractor in the least, but I thought you need to compact the pavers after you lay them in order to make sure they are level and compacted?
