Dams produce gases of global warming because the larger dams being built in the tropics (ie, southeasr Asia, Amazon basin) flood huge tracts of forests and the submerged, dead, rotting forest produces a immense amount of global warming gases (Co2, methane). Plus, the destruction of these same forests permanently eliminates an area that could be available to "store" carbon. Simple as that.

If someone could invent a PV cells with more than 50% efficency, i bet the inventer will be a rich within a year.

a dam wouldnt pollute anything, it just processes liquids and no exhuast left behind. what the heck are you talking about with natural gas and coal?! what part specifically of a dam pollutes gasses. Theres absolutely nothing on a dam that pollutes anything.

flood prime farm land... the land thats been raped and stripped of all vegetation to grow products that a ever increasing human population uses to live off..... you twit the real problem is there are to many people and not this petty damming of rivers, we need a human clearence before we start worrying about this shit so do the world a favour and dont have kids simple problem solved less people no need for dams,,,,,,,,

from the water i give you, collect the excess steam and channel it through piping placed in cold or room temperature sea water and this will make the steam turn to distilled water for you to drink.
I agree with pretty much everything in this video, since it has scientific backing, but i was wondering about the greenhouse gasses part. Are there any studies on this or is it mainly speculations? I read the comment describing why it would happen i and can absolutely see the connections, but im thinking it might be very exaggerated? Its hard to think that it somehow makes MORE difference than coal.
Could you point me towards your sources on this matter? Thank you very much indeed

@gamemaker60 Here is the main portal on reservoir emissions. A lot of information that can't be fit into a video is sourced here. Thanks for your questions!

Dams are built on top of whatever is beneath them. In many areas this includes wildlife, trees, etc.. Rotting vegetation from trees, bushes, grasses and the like create global warming gasses that rival the emissions from a coal power plant.
