actually, it's 6-9 :D
And different instruments practice on certain days, like woodwinds, etc. i'm in colorguard so i'm not too sure but we practice on tuesdays from 5-9 as well

Kevin Sherill measured it once, from El Monte Ave to Santa Anita Ave, is ~1/4 mile. The whole Arc HS band can't fit into the bandroom at the sametime, so they have to practice in different times of the school day. During marching season they have their Weds night practices from 7p-9p.
The Arc HS band is a sight to behold even when they are practicing.
The Arc HS band would be even bigger(in the past it had ~450) but AUSD cut the elementary music program a few year ago to save money.

This is a high school that is serious about it's marching band program. I understand that their competition band marches approximately 170 which is as large as Foothill H.S. of Pleasanton. Golden Valley marched 130 during the 2007 fall marching season. Arcadia looked really big on T.V. during the 08 Rose bowl Parade. Golden Valley plans to march 160 at the 09 Rose Parade.

They close off the back street and march down it for practice. It is about a block long.

Being in a NorCal band, im not accustomed to seeing such a huge band... our largest has to be Foothill HS...just where do you practice? Ive been wondering about that since i first saw how big Arcadias band is.. P.S. My high schools mascot is an Apache too ^_^ (C/O '09)
