On the anniversary of the disputed June 2009 presidential elections, and one year of unprecedented violence and repression in Iran, Iranians and non-Iranians alike are joining hands to demand unconditional release of ALL prisoners of conscience.
More than 70 cities in the world are participating, including Tokyo, Istanbul, Rio de Janero, Prague, Berlin, Paris, Los Angeles ...
Sponsors include Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and Reporters Without Borders.
Each city is adopting one prisoner of conscience : Paris has adopted Saeed Matinpour, a journalist sentenced to 8 years for "having relations with foreign media".
The demands to the Islamic Republic of Iran are : unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience, an immediate halt to all executions, an end to all torture, rape, and psychological abuse, freedom of assembly and from arbitrary arrest, revision of discriminatory laws against women.
