These two great former champions squared off for the second time over 3 years after their first meeting. George Foreman was coming off a heart stopping win over Ron Lyle in 5 rounds. Foreman had lost only once still and had a sparkling record of 41-1 with 38 knockouts. Foreman was trying to get back to the top of the rankings to get another meeting with Muhammad Ali. Joe Frazier was near the end of his career and had lost his last fight to Muhammad Ali in the Thrilla In Manilla after beating Jimmy Ellis. Frazier had a record of 32-3 with 27 knockouts and wanted one more shot at the title

  • Foreman should have got a rematch with Ali

  • These two could have fought 100 times, and Foreman would have won all 100 of them

  • Lyle wasn't too short at 6'3 to fight modern monsters. And Frazier not only had high blood pressure he was BLIND in one eye AND on truth only 5'9 (but listed at 5.11.5). I KNOW how tall he was because I did roadwork with him in '77.

  • Round 5 Joe just bobs and weaves and never gets his shots off...

  • I meant "fight" backing up...

  • Poor Joe can't find backing up

  • maybie im wrong but i believe Tyson would KO both of them. Respect to these two Legends.

  • Foreman should definitely have gotten a rematch with Ali. He and Frazier were both pretty much shot after Manila.

  • Frazier had NOTHING to offer here. I wonder why he bothered to show up.

He threw very few punches. When he did he was too far away from Foreman and was reaching out too far with his left hook so that it had little power.

He didn't even try to get inside most of the time.

  • @arlington33able easy...foreman was bounced all over by lyle

  • Tyson destroy Foreman?.......thats pure fantasy! , are you a holocaust denier also?
