At one time our soldiers in Korea had to fight in bitter cold and snow. This video is about that experience.

  • Chesty Puller said "We're not retreating, we're merely attacking in another direction." Not Oliver P. Smith...

  • @andrelebaron During the beginning of the battle there was no snow and at the lower altitudes there was foliage still on some trees. Temperatures off the plateau were up to 50 degrees warmer. Green leaves were from something else not November.

  • too bad a lot of the footage is obviously from other campaigns. no snow, in a few cases even green leaves in the footage.

  • My cousin a Marine was here. He is now in Hospice Care. Seldom talked of it. Actually he had no clue he was due a bunch of ribbons and medals since his papers were modified to show it after he was already out of the marines for over a year. (He never joined any veterans organizations) . I found the supplemental records and have informed him of his honors (presidential unit citation -etc) but too late to get them presented to him now. These soldiers went through hell, but the Chinese paid.

  • this is what would happen if someone tried to attack canada in the winter time

  • The book "East of Chosin" describes the ordeal of the Army troops on the east side of the resevoir. The unit was decimated and Lt Col Faith was last seen sitting upright in a vehicle dead.

  • @marino2251 You lost me in the final sentence...
