Metal Detecting UK (232) XP Deus - The Georgian Picnic Field Marathon

Today I painstakingly search every square inch of the picnic field ... all day long ... what a marathon ...... wall edges ... centre ... flats ... and slopes ... and now I really know the rules ... LOL ... well maybe ... perhaps ... sort of ... it produced a few nice finds ... an amazing buckle .. half a dozen Georgian coins ... but oh ... am I cream-crackered? ... does Ged like silver? ... you can bet your crooked sixpence .... oh yes.... Mr Danzigan tells me the amazing buckle is English medieval and the only other known type is Ameriacn Confederate 1860

they are for attaching thin straps to a horse harness ... I think ... there is a complete ring and straps on my video (240) in the buckles section

The area I am working is hill country which didn't come into it's own until the industrial revolution with woolen mills in every valley ... there are Roman connections but I haven't work that area yet ... I intend to later on this year ... when the spirit takes me .. LOL .. might even get a hoard ... quick .. duck .. or is that a flying pig ...LOL

hi ged what do you think of the garrett ace 250 as i am buying one ive got at min a fisher 1265-x i went metal detecting and got £3.05 LOL but i hope the garrett ace 250 gets me the money back in 3 months for what i have payd for it lol

Nice finds Ged! But I don't understand you don't find much coin/relics older than 1800. Even no Roman finds....How come??? Do you know about the history in your area?? HH & GL. Marc
