Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize: News Current

In a surprise move, the Nobel Comittee in Oslo, Norway announced today that they would award the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama. Obama, accepting the award, said he would take it as a "call to action". While some were enthusiastic for the decision, many of Obama's critics said that the President had not yet accomplished enough to earn the award.

the guy is in office two weeks when the tally for the nobel peace prize was in, and he hasn't pulled out of Iraq on Day 1 as promised and he has increased our number of troops in the middle-east and hasn't done anything to help the situation with Iran nor North Korea.

How he is the most worthy person to win the Nobel peace prize is beyond me. They gave it to him as INCENTIVE to strive for peace. WTF?

As I said, it is not due to any appearance related reason that Obama does not pull out of Afghanistan. To think that is ridiculously unsound, and shows what amoral values you have in heart. America does not need to look strong in order to be strong, after all. No, the reason Obama does not pull out of Afghanistan "immediately" is simply that the region is terribly unstable, and without the support of US troops, other nations such as Canada and Germany who are already bearing a huge burden...
