mikeyousofine, for posting this lovely video! I did not like the movie "The Deer Hunter" but I love the song "Cavatina".

I'm also Vietnamese. I'm 32 but I've loved this song since I was a teen.
To me the song goes perfectly with the movie - but that's just me.
My reasoning is that the movie is mainly about the relationships of the main characters - and how war disillusions their feel for how life was "supposed" to turn out in Pennsylvania.
The song is tranquil at some parts. But it's also deep, and dark at other times. And that's what happens with Nick, Linda, Mike in the movie

I'm Vietnamese. I am confused with the movie "The Deer Hunter", because I'm a Vietnamese. But I love this song. Actually, I have once wished that the song "Cavatina" has no concern with the movie. But Unfortunately.........

@phankhachuyanh Very nice job, but I am confused about what confuses you. Is it the discrepancy between the film's violence and the tranquility of Cavatina? The connection I make for this music is the poignancy of the camaraderie and innocence with which the movie began, lost when three of the old gang head off to war.
