09 May 09 - Singer Shaun has the potential to live his life like High School Musical, with Rugby and Singing sharing his attention. But is he any good??Shaun Smith Fansite: http://shaunsmith.info
17-year-old Shaun Smith is living the real life of Troy from High School Musical: A sports star at school with a passion for singing - but is he any good? With a gang of friends and fellow rugby players along to support him.
n this weekends Britains Got Talent, its the singers who yet again seem to be leading the way.
On Saturday we will see 17 year old A-level student Shaun Smith from Litchfield Staffordshire take to the stage.
At school Shaun is a bit of a rugby star and plays three-four times a week but Shauns rugby mates have come along with him today to support his true passion, singing.
As Shaun explains I have been singing for as long as I can remember Ive done little things but Ive never sung at anything this big before. Its all very well and good my Gran saying Im good but shes a little biased, but its my mates that are the most important thing and thats when I get nervous as they could rip me to shreds!.
Shaun sings Aint No Sunshine for the Judges and very quickly a big smile spreads across all three Judges faces and the audience, and all of Shauns rugby mates, are on their feet.
Simons reaction to Shauns performance is I genuinely wasnt expecting that, you remind me of Mick Hucknall, but good looking. Youve got a very authentic sounding voice.
But Amanda has some words of criticism, take your hands out your pockets and believe in yourself as your body language is saying Im crap but your voice is saying youre brilliant, believe in yourself.
Will Shaun get a clean sweep of yess from the judges, and more importantly has Shaun made his mates proud?
Hasnt he got FAB mates......
