That play he makes at first base at the :28 mark just took my breath away. Technically, the ball was behind him when he makes that insane play. A coulple of tumbles then back on his feet in time to make the play at first. I must have watched that play at least ten times in the last hour... amazing!

i must say, 2:05 wasn't hernandez. that was darryl strawberry's home run in game 3 of the '86 nlcs.

happy birthday, keith. same day as mickey charles mantle.

This is an awesome video. What it needs is Steve Zabriskie's quote one time, "That would have taken a Hernandez-type play, and Keith was busy hitting that ball."

I got to grow up watching Mattingly & Hernandez play at the same time in the same city to bad no inter-league back then, they would of set the city ablaze every single summer playing on the same field against each other.

this video is a great idea ... although it does need a little more footage.
and as for "keith the magnificent", his trade to ny from st. louis was the best trade in ny mets history ! ! he brought class (which is something most ball players don't know much about), passion, a collection of gold gloves, an mvp award, a .300 batting avg, grace, charm (which helped sell the mets' brand to so many ladies in the 80's) and now in 2011 we are fortunate enough to still have him here ! !

1:19 nice camera u are using.

Mattingly's best seasons were as good as anybody who ever lived. Hernandez was a great, great player but Mattingly's prime was hall of fame worthy.

Needs more footage of Keith's signature play, charging like a madman on a bunt attempt to nab the advancing runner.
