As a Catholic, the behavior of the Bishops & Vatican curial personnel in intentionally covering this up makes me sick.

But what is even sicker is the none too subtle campaign by Opus Dei & the LC to spin the issue - to minimize is as if unimportant, twist facts & figures & shift blame to the (much smaller!!) incidents of abuse in Protestant & Jewish groups.

This shows that the Church is a culture of abuse......a culture of death of the soul.

The roman Catholic church is EVIL and not of God at all......there are soooo amny things that are wrong about the churcb on sooo many levels. ppl are wasting their time going to masss and sitting in confessionals smh

I was abused by a priest starting 55 yrs ago when I was a small child. The abuse went on for a little over 3 years. The Catholic church preaches morality and yet harbors pedophiles.

What page and paragraph, indicates victims are encouraged to report to civil authorities.
The first step in helping victims is stopping the abuse, then holding the offenders accountable, promote safety and well being of its members. The Chruch did not do these things. They are mucking thru some of this now but not very well or very clearly.
