your guitar sounds really nice, the only problem here is your 01v digital mixer...all the work you've done to get the guitar sounding good is lost after it goes through that 01v. you should go try a good analog mixer or try pluging directly in the back of your mackies bypassing the board you will notice a huge difference in signal quality and see what that 01v is doing to your tone I can tell just by listening to this clip.

This is great for active pick ups in that you bypass the gain stage and keep your PA from clipping too. It calms things down. It also does wonders for my under saddle classical tone.
I just use a tip ring y cord.
Thanks for the info...........

D'oh !!!! Why mod the LR Baggs when it's much easier to wire a special cable that uses a Tip/Send jack, and just wire to return!
-
note to DIY'ers - Only do this if have active electronics in your guitar. A passive piezo needs to go into the normal input jack. Try it first by following his example plugging 1/2 way into the FX jack. The mod requires phantom XLR power. If you need 9v battery power, plug another jack 1/2 way in the input, which turns it on without adding signal noise. This mod involves disassembly, lifting pins and adding two jumpers.

how come i cant pick up any signal when i go through fx loop?? please help...

I would like to confirm that this 'trick' actually works - and may work very well for some types of pick-up systems. Thanks for the video.

@superbendecido9 Have you already gotten the DI? Or are you still on the fence about it? You could wait for me to post a video on it since I have a 110ce with the same pick-up system (unless yours has the ES Blue or something else) and I now own this DI.

is that a standard ES on the taylor?

This mod sound good, but all I can find on the net is this demo video and not one site that offers instructions how to perform the mod. How can I find out how to do the mod?
-
From what I can understand, there's no actual hardware modification.
I suspect he's just saying to modify the way you input into the device.

I've always been hesitant to buy another outboard DI for my guitar.....is there any significance to buying one if a guitar already has a built-in preamp? Does the sound tone increase if plugging through one?

It can be a help - definitely using a DI (active or passive) between your guitar and a mixing board is a good idea. I really like the tonal benefit of the Para DI, as it seems to add some weight/solidity to the low end. The EQ controls are really great as well. Whether any of that is helpful for you or your situation is really up to you, but I wouldn't hesitate to give it a shot. You might like it!
All the best.
