Unix & Linux have nothing to do with each other. They aren't even the same system, they just sound the same lol
Is Ubuntu easy? Very easy. It takes a little getting use to because it's not the same as windows but as for programming or anything like that, that doesn't apply too much in ubuntu, it's setup for u to work.

well as far as the cube faces with virtual desktop faces, Cube Desktop 1.3.1 is pretty neat for XP, and you can find some of the window effects in WindowFX, but none of the ripple effects or window bending, those are found only in Linux

Windows XP can't run this sort of eye candy.. if you want to see this sort of thing on your PC then install a decent operating system.. any Linux one will do.. WindBLOWS can't hack it.
If you want a user friendly Linux to have a go at I recommend Fedora GNOME or Ubuntu... if you want some more eye candy then Fedora KDE or Kubuntu.

you cannot and will not be able to get this on windows xp, because is is for linux/UNIX. the nearest thing to this is yod'm 3d, but it is not worth getting.

where can i find a VERY USER FRIENDLY LINUX FOR NOOBS? is ubuntu okay. some dude told me that in order to run Ubuntu, you really need to know what u r doing. after i looked at ubuntu i found that u need to know a lot of UNIX. can i also get thease special effects on a mac? tnks.

not realy but its just very easy to start with a lot of suport online
but it can be as hard debian or any kind of linux

if yoy realy took the time to look @ ubuntu you find out it isn't that hard at all its build so you can start without knowing something about linux
even the install is very user friendly and stuff like that runs on it, just follow 1 off the many walktrue's online :p
