These are clips from my hour long video introducing the first time guitar builder to the wood, tools and plans needed to build an acoustic guitar. I also covers the difference between buying a structured kit vs. building it from scratch. • Thank you for posting your videos! I'm learning a ton different stuff each time I watch them.

  • This model is inspired from Jazz manouche guitar (Gipsy swing) . One of the most famous guitarist playing them, was Django REINHART. His guitar was a SELMER-MACCAFERI . SELMER gave two different shape A small one, petite bouche “small mouth” or grande bouche “large mouth” (the model in the back) . May be the “D shape could” be explain by an internal soundbox which fitted the guitar . In France we have some LUTHIER who build this model e.g. Franck CHEVAL. Have a nice day. Yo2bo

  • why is the sound hole in the guitar in the back so big

  • I'd already decided to jump in and build my first guitar when I came across this clip. If I hadn't - this guy would certainly have ispired me to try. Excellent teaching clips!
