This is Part 1 of a walk-through guided tour attraction from Tokyo Disneyland. Unfortunately this attraction closed in April 2006. No reason was given.

The tour is in Japanese but I can tell you this much: The tour begins in a portrait gallery where the guide shows us portraits of the Disney Heroes. But the Magic Mirror interrupts her and corrects her description. There is a lightning flash and the portraits change to those of the Disney Villains. The Mirror then explains that the new portraits are, in fact, the real Disney Heroes and that they have been misunderstood for years.

A secret door creaks open revealing a dark and winding staircase, which leads down to the dungeons. The Mirror invites us to explore and discover the truth of things for ourselves.

The rest of the attraction seems to be, for the most part, a tour of the Villain's lairs including some very un-Disney creepy moments.

The dragon in this attraction inspired the more elaborate dragon built for the castle in Paris. And this was the only Disney attraction ever to feature characters from the Black Cauldron. The Horned King animatronic is very impressive.

  • Finally a little Black Cauldron lovin'! The king is so scary, he is perfect for this kind of attraction. Good call, Disney.

Taking it away without bringing it to the US: Baaaad call.

  • Went in this as a kid (we were at the back of the tour), I looked back at one point and saw a floating ghost head. Cried to my mother, no one believed me... Until this video... xD

  • I wish I could get a close up of some of those paintings. I'd love to paint them out. Especially the one of Lady Tremaine.

  • It's quite evident this was one of the many marketing ploys used to promote the then new movie The Black Cauldron. Given how quickly the company removed all other references to the movie in the parks, it's amazing that they let this one go on for twenty years before deciding to replace it with a retelling of Cinderella. Stupid Disney, first you replace Mr. Toad with Winnie the Pooh, now this? Why must you get rid of the awesome stuff with the over-marketed franchises?

  • @ParkHopper Ah yes Japan's habbit of treating children as more adult combined with disneys habbit of scaring people stiff .

  • This is awesome! They need to do this for Disneyworld. Thye can add Ursula, Jafar and Dr. Facilier as well =D

  • @tomlinkon Because without the villains, there wouldn't be any story.

I actually agree with the mirror: it's the Disney Villains that are the true heroes! :)

  • If this ever comes to Walt Disney World, the Portraits should be: Ariel turning into Ursula, Sorcerer Mickey turning into Chernabog, Aladdin turning into Jafar, Milo and Kida turning into Commander Rourke and Lt. Helga Sinclair, Rapunzel turning into Mother Gothel and Stitch turning into Captain Gantu. It may not Happen, But I can Dream, which is the fun part of being a Disney Fan.

  • @moger999 Rapunzel to Mother Gothel

Jack Sparrow to Barbossa, Davy Jones or Blackbeard

  • @minoritymex72 you are right it's also in half blood prince

  • 1:O_O The magic mirror is now Japanese? that is scary as hell!

2:Disney really knows how to make a haunted house
