In this lesson, students learn to use the following order of operations when simplifying: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, and Addition/Subtraction (PEMDAS). Note that multiplication and division are done based on order of appearance from left to right in the problem, and addition and subtraction are done based on order of appearance from left to right in the problem.
