Much respect to Russia from the USA! Lets stop this bickering please. Russias ships over all look really bad ass. But Americas new "Freedom" and "Independence" class ships look very very sweet. Anyway, why cant you guys realize that if the USA and Russian Federation joined forces we could take the world. Forget Europe, their military's are practically useless. Look, us Americans are not stupid and fat. While we have some who are, so does Russia and everyone else. And hey, we both hate China! ;D

@Suyamu maybe so,but the US navies Ticonderoga class cruiser has 122 missile cells,any one of these can be fitted with 4 ESSMs,and even one of these missiles is capable of downing even the largest and fastest sea skimming missile. so our cruiser would only have to sacrifice 5 cells to have enough firepower do defeat 18 missiles(and still have 2 left over). the other 117 can be armed with any missiles that can fit in them(such as the Tomahawk,and in time,the ArcLight hypersonic cruise missile).

See those big ass launcher tubes? This ship carries 18 missiles with 1000kg warheads or nuclear tipped if necessary. Let's take US anti-ship missiles for comparison - they're smaller alright, but carry ca. 200-500kg warheads.
For what US Navy is needing that might be enough - Russia has those things to go up against carrier groups with super carriers which demands heavy payloads and thus bigger carrier missile.

Насколько я помню, концепция применения советского ВМФ была в максимальном залпе в единицу времени (т.к на второй могло не быть времени). Т.е конструктора и старались сделать вооружение максимальным.У МРК проекта 1234 вообще на вооружение приходилось до 30% водоизмещения - мировой рекорд!! Отсюда и переизбыток вооружения, кроме того кораблей у нас было меньше чем у США и потому они и были перенасыщены оружием.

Красивый корабль, кстати, даже в США признают что наши корабли выглядят лучше: более стремительно и грозно - не то что западные "коробки" (правда увлечение "стелс" технологиями может ухудшить знаменитый "грозный" вид российских кораблей но пр.20380 выглядит весьма круто) "Атланты" вообще не зря звались "звериным оскалом социализма" (погуглите "Наши корабли были лучше")
