This is Alzheimer's Society's first awareness raising TV ad.

The commercial was created and produced free of charge by RedBee Media who won a charity challenge set by Promax, an organisation which exists to promote excellence in the production of promotional films.

The ad is being show on free on a number of television networks including Five, Sky, TCM, Living and UKTV.

There are more than 750,000 people in the UK affected by dementia with numbers set to rise to 1 million by 2021. More than half of these have Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them.

  • @Tightey88 Hi. Sorry to hear you feel that you don't get enough support. We try to offer as broad a selection of services as possible up and down the country to help people living with dementia and their families.

  • i would like to use this video for a project is there a way i could get a copy of it??????

  • agreed, until youve been affected by it, its hard to understand just why awareness needs to be raised.

  • Excellent, about time this horrible illness was given some air time.

I lost both my parents to this wicked disease, I just hope the recent press given by Terry Pratchett (what a courageous man) and John Suchet, and now Kevin Whateley with his Mother suffering will give the help for this illness the boost it needs.
