Humanist Psychology according to the Secular Humanism Worldview. My friends at Summit Ministries continue their series on comparative world views with a study of Secular Humanism as it relates to Psychology (Part 6 of 13).

Please visit http://www.Summit.org for more videos and resources for understanding Secular Humanism and developing a Biblical Christian Worldview, including various Summit camps and retreats.

Also, visit http://www.allaboutworldview.org/Humanist-psychology.htm for more information on Humanist Psychology, Secular Humanism, Christian Worldview, and Christian Apologetics.

  • Wrong! from the start. you don't have to be atheist to be humanist, agnostic would be the correct term, this is christian propaganda.

  • Sounds very utopian.

  • I came to this page to learn about humanistic psycology. Not to hear this religious bullshit!!!

  • Wrong! There's the concept of self and Self. The latter is the impersonal Spirit (perhaps not calling it this), or that which perhaps, I know many humanists even, aspire to, which is them at their best, and their true self, rather than the selfish and sensual self or personality. This video doesn't make itself look directly like some-kind of Christian propaganda, but after looking further at these videos, I can clearly see their false agenda, and false information.

  • Hey that's great. Now lets all watch a nazi educational video about the jewish culture. I'm sure it will be just as accurate.

  • @marketofideas - Christianity should only stress that Christ paid the price of a lost world, for once and for all and forever. Thats the basis of Christianity. Yes the Soul is our inner true self, but, Christians don't look to "inner power" to do anything, because all power comes through faith. If this is not the message, then its simply NOT Christianity.

Simply put, I don't think Humanism is anything like Christianity.

  • @BobbyShyne : What do you mean exactly by "religious people"?

  • @Ambika2712 Except that humanism predates the hippy movement by decades. If anything, the hippy movement was a byproduct of one strain of humanism.

  • This was made by religious people to shit on something so beatiful as Humanism, poor little people.

  • @megaman9000 chill...

  • " Though it posits that human beings are capable of being ethical and moral without religion or God, it neither assumes humans to be inherently or innately good" - Wikipedia on Secular Humanism.

Much of the basis of this video is founded in false claims about the topic at hand

  • Ill sum this up for those who lack Humanity. You must choose to hand away the very thing that makes you a homo sapein. Logic. You cannot, at anytime be both Human and religious at the same moment. You either admit your diminished state psychologically and take on religion or you live up to your animal classification and toss aside ridiculous superstition because it requires a suspension of logic to feign belief. This makes the religious on earth subhuman, lesser, failed and fallen. Broken.
