Here's a first quick attempt at making an RC car with Legos. I was trying to think of a way to use the RC transmitter/receiver (which lets you control the speed of 2 motors independently) to make a steerable car - aside from using differential wheel speeds. What I came up with is this "novel approach" where one motor powers the back wheels and the other motor spins an oversized propeller that picks up the front of the car and moves it over a bit. What I mean by "novel" here is "different (and maybe entertaining), but not necessarily useful or sensible."
That's a very inventive way to steer. I have just made a golf trolly into a remote controlled version. I have stop, go and timed run working so far. I have 2 channels left on my receiver relay circuit and need to add steering to the small front wheel. This could be it. Does your motor go straight to the spinning wheels or is some gearing inbetween?
