  • I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! Listen to this awesome piece AND then listen to "Rodrigo - Fantasia Para Un Gentilhombre - Fantasia Canariose" is it a homage or someone ripping off the exact same melody OR is canary always this melody??

  • @UnwrittenPaul Rip off? C'mon, we're talking about Joaquin Rodrigo here, not Vanilla Ice.. ;)

Thus saith wikipedia: "The four movements were based on six short dances for solo guitar by the 17th century Spanish composer Gaspar Sanz, taken from a three-volume work now commonly known as Instrucción de música sobre la guitarra española. Most of the movements retain the names that Sanz originally gave them. Rodrigo expanded on Sanz's themes to produce a work lasting more than 20 minutes."

  • Pretty rockn for 17th century.I have heard many covers and this by far is the best

  • misss huevoss!

  • About the time of this recording, the BBC made a documentary on the Air and Ground Controllers at Heathrow, London. It was voiced by Paul Vaughn and I'm sure used Sanz' themes as incidental background music. Imagine if you will, aircraft shot using extreme telephoto moving silently around the taxiways to what was then 300 year old sound. Ground Controllers working 2hrs on and 2hrs off then earned £2000 for their trouble!!!!
