Admiral Halsey notified me,
He had to have a berth or he couldn't get to sea.
I had another look and I had a cup of tea and butter pie.
(Butter Pie? )(The Butter wouldn't melt so I put it in the pie.)

They burned Tokyo to the ground. Isn't that something to be proud of.

My grandfather was lucky enough to fly with Doolittle over the Burma Hump, and to the end he had nothing but the utmost respect for that man, probably more than anyone else he had served with during the war.
-
the president of the Hennessy Company gave Doolittle a bottle of Very Special cognac, vintage 1896, the year of Doolittles birth. Doolittle, in turn, donated the cognac to the goblet collection with the stipulation that the last two surviving Raiders would open it to drink a final toast to their departed comrades.

Met Gen. John and daughter, spoke to them about all that cussing in the movie 'Pearl Harbor' they all tried to get it changed, no avail. Gen D cussed but only when it was really appropriate and not in mixed company, saw it as a sign of low IQ
Reading CV Glines book now, autographed by him and four Raiders.
