I'm a medical student getting ready for boards. Dr. John Barone, (an amazing pathologist) is guest lecturing at my school this weekend and he was talking about prion diseases and food-borne illnesses when he brought up the video. Had to see it for myself. THEORETICALLY you could extract nutrients from feces (fertilizer) but the human GI tract is not sterile, and the protein that remains could be denatured after all the processing you would have to do (making it expensive, impractical, and silly)
