they had them made specially for the show. kind of like a taiko drum but not. Im not sure where, but theres a video about them somewhere. in the actual show the snare and tenor lines use them for the first bit and then they switch back to their snare or tenor.

its mostly true in any drum corps that they what the best talent they can get, often times coming from the older crowd. But if a younger student brings a lot to they table and they think he/she has what it takes to make it through the season (mentally and physically) then they will not send them away because of age. A lot of times when you hear of a corps cutting someone because their of their age, its normally because they have yet to grow up enough as a player/or to be on their own in summer.

Absolutely not true. A lot of their members come up from the younger Blue Devils B and C corps.

No, I agree. I hear that some corps cut people because "they were too young". Which is a load of bullshit, IMO
Then again, I think that Cavies took someone who was 16 a couple of years ago...
