Short Ceramics Class Exercise. Each student is given a tool and a lump of clay and told to make something using the tool and not touching the clay with their hands. The objects, made in 10 or 20 minutes are not necessarily kept. No grade is given other than a check for participation. A careful look at each piece and the tool when they are done is recommended. Thanks to my students who truly are great people and lots of fun, Mike Peed, whose demonstrations were the inspiration along with the NCECA Project Book.

I like that the students have very little at stake. Gives them freedom to experiment.
