So what do people find is different about the tele-presence experience versus say the experience of using a stable web-cam or just driving an rc car?

The tiny robot only has a range of about 50m and was put together for people to get the experience of using a telepresence robot. For a kind-of telepresence toy robot that you might be able to use to check on your house and pets, check out Meccano Spyke. I haven't used one, but the videos and specs on it look interesting.

Yeah...I was thinking more of using it at home to check on the house, kids, cat, dog, etc...

Obviously the larger robot is better, but I wonder if the mini-me version could also have a use.
