@neocoders The Vampire DH.99 was modified to a mixed wood and metal construction in light of Ministry of Aircraft Production recommendations, and the design was renumbered to DH.100 by November 1941.
My dad used to fix these in the RNZAF in the late 50's. Heard a few stories about these as a kid. I think he said that the variant he worked on actually had a wooden airframe!
