"nope the trick is its a trick deck

the cards stick to the back of each other i know this for a fact one of my freinds is a magician and he does this trick. though some of you are close when you say double sided cards. the cards do add up to 13 for example say youre card is a 6♦ the card stuck to it would be a 7♣. one side has evens one side has odds so he would choose the odd side and look for the 7♣ and when he sees it he would force the 6 off the back of it. hope this helps you understand."
