The "Dragon Rapide" registered G-AIYR is one of the last DH-89 still flying. Built in 1943, it is exploited by Classic Wings at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford (UK). For a small fee, people can fly this amazing plane.

The first DH-89 flew in 1934. It was used by airlines and some armies during the 2nd world war. With his 2 DH Gipsy Queen 3 engines (200 HP each), the Dragon Rapide can fly at about 120 knots.

728 DH-89 were built until the production ceased in 1946.

=================================
