Danny Song, Watters complex resident assistant, was one of the students trapped in the commons after the tornado damaged it. This is his recollection of the events. Audio by Kyle Kurlick; Photography by Morris Abernathy, Justin Veneman and Kyle Kurlick.
Thank you for telling your story. It's one thing to see the devastation on T.V. and quite another to hear about first hand. May God continue to watch over you as He did that night. God bless all you at Union University.

Manyt Blessing were yours that day! We go through hurricanes ev yr but nothing like a tornado. We were in our hallway in the Ivan hurricane 2004, when our roof got blown off. 22 hrs before we could do any thing. My family & Church are praying for all on your campus. Please let us know if there is anything we can help with. May God bless all of you, a speedy recovery for all those who were hurt. The angels of the Lord lifted you above the storm that day. Thanks you for sharing this video.

Danny-
Thank you for posting this... your story is amazing, and hearing this first hand truely gives perspective.
I'm an RA at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and that night we too took cover in our bathrooms. I cannot imagine going through your ordeal and being able to share it...
Best of thoughts and wishes for you, your buddies in the hospital, and all of Union.
