  • Sweet tone, whats the idea of the cable going from one input to another?

  • @Gerazini

On early non-master volume JMPs you can use a jumper cable to connect the two independent channels together. Since I plug into the high sensitivity input on channel 1, I run a short jumper cable from the low sensitivity ch 1 input to the high sensitivitiy input of ch 2. This lets me use both ch1 and ch2 volume controls. Generally speaking, the lets you use ch 2 as a bass control. Increasing the volume of ch 2 really brings the low end.

There are many patching options available, and this also works on other amps that have dual channels, but not all.

  • Hi Kiss,

beautiful tone. Do you use delay?

If yes, directly in front of amp?

    Thanks!

  • I use delay rarely for some solos and appeggio style picking. I always run it in front of my amp, in large part because my main Marshall doesn't have an effects loop. My understanding is that time-based effects like delay should be run through the loop but do whatever works for you.

  • Nice man, I love the sound! How much was the first pedal you showed?

  • I picked up the Hotcake on ebay a few years ago for about $100. It excels at pushing a crunchy tube amp into overdrive/moderate distortion. The Zendrive is great at that too and is as smooth as silk.

The secret to killer OD is to start with a SLIGHTLY crunchy amp and crank up the volume/level controls on the pedal and set the Gain or Distortion knobs at no higher than 1/3. This setup slams the amps input section with a big but fairly clean signal that the amp can now make bigger and bigger.

  • @KissFanSite Thanks, gonna give it a try

  • Yes, i know. I have a Cornell Plexi 45/50 without Fx Loop, too.

So i'm thinking some solution to use delay without sending it directly in front of amp!
