Promotion of Peaceful Co-Existence through the Joint Rehabilitation of Water Dams
A Peace-Building Approach in North-Eastern Uganda developed by DED-ZFD and Partners
The 15 minute documentary film portrays the "Promotion of Peaceful Co-Existence through Joint Rehabilitation of Water Dams" in the Teso-Karamoja region in North-Eastern Uganda, an area that has been hit by violent confilcts for many decades. It shows the peace-building project in all different stages, from the beginnings in early 2007 until its present period.
The "Promotion of Peaceful Co-Existence" is a joint approach of the Civil Peace Service Department (ZFD) of German Development Service (DED) and its partner organisations in the region: Teso Initiative for Peace (TIP), Omaniman Community Development Initiative (OCODI) and the Christian International Peace Service (CHIPS). The work has also been supported by the Food for Assets plan of the World Food Programme (WFP) and by local governments in the area.
