Some collectors encase their comics in sealed cases, stopping them from ever being read. Some say that makes them valuable, but we say it makes them worthless. Read your comics!

  • Comics are a hobby. Had to say it.

Anyhow, I have a few CGC comics in my collection. I want them to stay preserved for longer then what a mylar bag could do for them, so CGC is the most logical for me. I can understand why people don't like CGC, but I can also understand why people do like CGC.

    Funny video tho!

  • Idiots... as expected from people that have to name themselves based on a popular Apple naming convention.

I have a few CGC comics, they are the ones that meant something to me as a kid, that I considered to be important. Guess what, I also have copies of these comics that are not slabbed, so I can read them when I want, as well as digital copies. I am grateful that CGC gives me a way to preserve my childhood memories in such a pristine way.

It's not always about money idiots.

  • Friggin monkey's. I know you are doing this for entertainment, but everyone knows that cgc helps make a standard grade of a book that someone wants to buy usually on an online auction. Not only that, it helps protect the comic. If you really want to ready the story, 9 times out of 10 they have a digital version you can read online. I kinda was pissed off because Micheal Turner (God bless) is one of my fav artist. Doing this to a book of his was like pissing on his grave.

  • @bradkoski I know, they could've just bought a reader copy instead of being jackasses...like they really cared that much about the story anyways.

  • Did they actually read the Fuckin' thing or just trying to look cool..Fuckin ass holes!

  • @JarvistheBitch Do you still turn the profit on CGC'd books that you used to? I know I don't. Too many out there, unless it's a major book. I just bought a Black Magic # 5 tonight in CGC 9.6 for $18.50. 5 or 6 years ago, that book would have brought no less than $50 and probably more. $18.50 won't even cover the cost of slabbing a 37 year old book. Your last sentence is right on. Flipping CGC books for profit is the most valuable thing slabbing provides. Selling for profit. Only reason I do it.

  • Ummm... Ever heard of a readers copy???

  • More joy than anyone's ever gotten out of a slabbed comic.

  • @BaltimoreLauren Actually mylar preserves better than a cgc holder

  • CGC grading is stupid and makes alot of expensive comic books more expensive to collect. I don't agree however, with the choice this guy made when he broke that slab. He should have sold it on ebay to some moron who thinks its worth 200 bucks and invested that money in a full lot or run of his favorite comic book title. Comic books are meant for reading and are valuable because of the contents inside the pages.

  • @JarvistheBitch Hahahahahahaha! Massive props to you for the unadulterated venom! It's refreshing to see people release their true inner emotions and not act like a candy ass like most people in the word do!
